Join Novartis as an Associate Director in Development IT and help shape the future of drug development through impactful data architecture. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams—data leaders, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders—to design scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions. Your work will drive innovation, strengthen data governance, and accelerate decision-making across global initiatives.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

- Define how data is stored, consumed, integrated, and managed across systems and teams

- Collaborate with enterprise data owners to shape and implement data strategy

- Develop and document conceptual and logical data models for business processes

- Ensure alignment with Novartis data architecture principles and enterprise standards

- Partner with solution architects to design compliant, scalable data solutions

- Track and report key performance indicators for data architecture deliverables

- Maintain domain-specific data landscapes and data flow documentation

- Lead data architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improvement

- Coordinate resources and priorities across critical data initiatives

- Engage stakeholders to drive adoption of data governance and architecture best practices

Essential Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology

- 12+ years of total experience, including 8+ years in data architecture leadership

- Proven expertise in data modeling, metadata, and data governance tools

- Strong experience aligning data architecture with business strategy and stakeholder communication

- Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks like DCAM and DAMA-DMBOK

- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry

- Hands-on experience with tools like Collibra, Informatica, Reltio, Tibco EBX, and SQL

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills aligned with Novartis values
