Lead TechOps eCompliance team in the development and implementation of eCompliance Strategy for Novartis TechOps.

Leads the integration of IT and OT eCompliance, modernizes technology, and enhances Quality Assurance oversight within Novartis Technical Operations.

Collaborates with eCompliance stakeholders, cross-functional partners, CIO, Data Integrity colleagues, and key stakeholders while employing strategic thinking to drive initiatives forward.

Identifies, measures, remediates, and monitors regulatory risks associated with eCompliance in Technical Operations, ensuring strong quality oversight and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Drive the AI readiness and competency building for the eCompliance organization by identifying and ensuring training staff on AI technologies, integrating AI with existing compliance systems, and ensuring data integrity and security.

Continuous evaluation of AI performance and adherence to ethical guidelines will further align organizational processes with cutting-edge technological advancements.

About the Role:

Leads the integration of IT and OT eCompliance, modernizes technology, and enhances Quality Assurance oversight within Novartis Technical Operations. 

Collaborates with eCompliance stakeholders, cross-functional partners, CIO, Data Integrity colleagues, and key stakeholders while employing strategic thinking to drive initiatives forward. 

Identifies, measures, remediates, and monitors regulatory risks associated with eCompliance in Technical Operations, ensuring strong quality oversight and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the integration of the IT and OT eCompliance organization to support Novartis business and drive synergies.
  • Update the organizational set up for eCompliance including the roles of regional eCompliance managers to ensure effective and compliant eCompliance oversight in the sites. Conduct site / entity eCompliance reviews as needed.
  • Provides leadership for quality systems oversight and the management of GxP computerized systems and the IT/OT systems landscape.
  • Collaborates effectively with Quality, IT business partners and other functions (where relevant) to ensure the delivery of quality outcomes.
  • Ensure an effective, fit-for-purpose e-Compliance Centre of Excellence (CoE) operating model including the Regional eCompliance set up. Functions as a quality system owner/process owner for CSV within the Novartis Quality Manual.
  • Strengthens QA oversight of the IT activities within TechOps, including preparing for regulatory inspections, ensuring ongoing inspection readiness and response to eCompliance related observations.
  • Develops a future-focused strategy in AI and emerging technologies readiness, evaluating regulatory requirements and developments to ensure Novartis QMS is fit for purpose in the eCompliance environment.
  • Establishes robust risk management strategies covering all areas of eCompliance for Technical Operations. Ensures that eCompliance risks are captured in Enablon/iRisk and escalated accordingly. Establish governance model for continuous feedback, engagement and to drive simplification through standardization.

Essential Requirements:

  • University degree and MBA or professional qualification in related field, e.g., business, life sciences
  • 15+ years in Pharma Commercial/Consulting//relevant areas, preferably with experience building business and P&L / topline accountability.
  • 5+ years’ experience in people management
  • Ability and expertise in engaging senior partners and influencing strategic decision-making.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix and geographically dispersed environment with problem-solving skills utilized to identify customer issues and deliver solutions.
  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical commercial data landscape and domain experience.
  • Experience in remote relationships (on-shore/off-shore capability delivery)

  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization processes.
  • Familiarity with global and local market dynamics in healthcare.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
